Friday’s WNBA slate features two semifinal elimination games. Atlanta visits New York at 7:30 p.m. ET, followed by Golden State at Las Vegas at 9:30 p.m. ET. The Dream and Valkyries both lead their best-of-five series 2-0 and can advance to the Finals with a victory.

WNBA Best Bet of the Day
Best Bet: Golden State Valkyries +4.5.
Golden State has won both games through different scoring environments: a 71-60 defensive battle and an 83-81 finish that required late execution. That gives the Valkyries a stronger case than simply backing a team on a winning streak. They have shown they can limit Las Vegas’s offense, create extra possessions and remain competitive when the Aces improve their scoring. Taking +4.5 allows Golden State to lose a close game and still cover.
Las Vegas’s return home creates a reasonable argument for an outright recovery, especially after its second-half comeback in Game 2. However, that improvement does not automatically justify a multi-possession victory against an opponent that has repeatedly controlled important stretches. My projection is Las Vegas 82, Golden State 79. Golden State +4.5 is the preferred wager at approximately -110; +3.5 remains a smaller lean, while +2.5 would be a pass.
Atlanta Dream vs New York Liberty Pick
Picks: New York Liberty ML, Atlanta +3.5 and Over 172.5.
Atlanta followed its 92-82 opening victory with a 101-98 overtime win Wednesday. The Dream have earned their series lead, but the narrower second result shows New York can challenge them. Returning to Barclays Center gives the Liberty an opportunity to turn a close contest into a victory. I favor New York narrowly on the moneyline, although its elimination situation alone is not a reason to expect a win.
Atlanta +3.5 is the stronger side position because the Dream have consistently found enough offense to pressure New York. Wednesday’s result also showed Atlanta could prevail despite an important absence from its scoring rotation. That does not settle availability for Friday, so the final injury report remains relevant. My projected 89-87 Liberty victory supports New York outright and Atlanta against the spread. I would prefer +3.5 or better and pass at +2.5.
Over 172.5 is a modest selection. Game 1 produced 174 points, and New York improved its offensive output in Game 2. The 199-point second-game total included overtime and should not be treated as a regulation scoring expectation. Nevertheless, I project enough production from both teams to reach 176, with late fouling offering an additional scoring route if Atlanta trails. The margin is small: I would pass at 175.5 or higher.
Golden State Valkyries vs Las Vegas Aces Pick
Picks: Las Vegas Aces ML, Golden State +4.5 and Over 156.5.
Las Vegas improved from 60 points in Game 1 to 81 in Game 2, nearly overcoming a substantial deficit before losing 83-81. That offensive recovery is a better reason to consider the Aces than relying on championship experience or desperation. Golden State remains a difficult matchup, but Las Vegas showed more ability to attack its defense as Wednesday’s game progressed. At Michelob ULTRA Arena, I give the Aces a narrow outright edge.
The spread asks for more separation than I expect. Golden State has defended effectively throughout the series and survived the Aces’ strongest comeback attempt. Its Game 2 victory also demonstrated that the Valkyries can make enough late plays to protect a small lead. A three-point Las Vegas victory is my projection, making Golden State +4.5 the best betting value while leaving Las Vegas ML as the outright prediction.
Over 156.5 gets a smaller vote. The second game reached 164 points, although exceptional free-throw shooting and late fouling contributed to that finish. Las Vegas’s improved offensive performance supports expecting more scoring than the opener’s 131, but Golden State’s defense remains a meaningful obstacle. My projected 82-79 score produces 161 points. Over 156.5 is playable; I would pass at 159.5 or higher.
