KIA Tigers vs Samsung Lions Picks and Prediction for Tuesday, October 27, 2026

I still lean toward KIA, but Monday’s win does not give us permission to pay whatever the sportsbook asks. Samsung has a credible starter going Tuesday, and the Tigers used five relievers to finish Game 1. This is a close matchup. Give me even money or better on KIA, or I’ll leave the moneyline alone.

The Tigers visit the Lions at Daegu Samsung Lions Park on Tuesday, October 27, with first pitch scheduled for 6:30 p.m. KST, or 5:30 a.m. Eastern. KIA leads this best-of-five Playoff series 1–0. A second road win would put the Tigers one victory from advancing. Make sure you are ready for all the action with our free KBO picks.

KIA +100 or better and Under 9.5 at -110 or better are required entry prices. Neither qualifying offer was confirmed at the research cutoff.

Weather and Playing Conditions

This is an outdoor game. The evening forecast calls for clear conditions, temperatures around the upper 50s near first pitch and a gradual drop into the low-to-mid 50s. Northwest winds should run approximately 10–15 mph. Hourly evening precipitation probabilities are around 0%; a reliable game-time gust figure was unavailable.

That looks like a workable playing window. Cooler air gives the under a little help, but the wind deserves a stadium-level check before first pitch. Without confirming how it crosses the field, I am not calling it an inward wind or assuming it suppresses home runs.

Starting Pitchers

Final regular-season statistics.

Statistic Adam Oller — KIA Ariel Jurado — Samsung
Record 11–10 9–3
ERA 3.13 3.54
WHIP 1.08 1.25
Innings 178 150
Strikeouts 180 98
Walks 62 31
Strikeouts per nine innings 9.10 5.88
Walks per nine innings 3.13 1.86

Oller has the better strikeout weapon. With runners on base, he has a better chance of ending an at-bat without needing his defense to make a play. Jurado’s answer is control: he issued roughly half as many walks per nine innings. Neither advantage settles the matchup by itself.

Here is the part KIA backers cannot brush aside. Oller allowed eight earned runs in one inning at Daegu on July 28. In his other two starts against Samsung, he allowed one run across 13 innings. That leaves a 5.79 matchup ERA driven heavily by one collapse. I trust his larger season more, but another rough opening would put pressure on a bullpen that worked Monday.

Jurado’s one regular-season meeting with KIA lasted seven innings. He allowed ten hits and three runs while striking out seven. Samsung would gladly take another outing that keeps its bullpen out of the game until the eighth. KIA needs to turn its contact into damage before that happens.

KIA’s Power Gives It a Road to Another Win

KIA finished the regular season 79–63–2, including 37–34 on the road. Monday’s 5–1 victory followed its three-game sweep of LG, leaving the Tigers unbeaten through four postseason games. They have played well enough to earn that record. It still does not tell us Tuesday will follow the same script.

The Tigers scored 769 regular-season runs and hit 174 home runs. Their .271 batting average was close to Samsung’s, but the power gap was meaningful. Against Jurado, that matters more than waiting for walks. KIA needs to punish pitches in the strike zone rather than count on repeated free baserunners.

Harold Castro supplied three hits, a home run and three RBIs in the opener after batting .327 with 21 regular-season homers. Kim Do-yeong’s 45 homers and 118 RBIs give the middle of the order another substantial threat. Behind them, the immediate concern is relief workload. KIA covered 4⅔ innings Monday, although several appearances were brief. Oller providing six useful innings would make the late-game decisions much easier.

Samsung Has More Going for It Than Monday Showed

Samsung finished 83–58–3 and went 43–29–1 at home. Those records matter more than one flat night at the plate. The Lions collected only two hits in the opener, but I would be careful about projecting another near-shutout from an offense that performed well over the full season.

Samsung scored 806 runs, batted .273 and hit 140 home runs. Its pitching staff finished with a 4.31 ERA, close to KIA’s 4.27. The Lions have enough offense to make Oller pay for walks. They also have a starter capable of keeping the score manageable without needing a huge strikeout total.

The significant absence remains closer Kim Jae-yoon, who recorded 35 saves before suffering an upper-body injury. Samsung plans to handle closing situations according to the matchup. That introduces uncertainty, but this was a bullpen with a 4.23 regular-season ERA, the league’s second lowest. Its available relievers threw 4⅓ scoreless innings Monday. Losing the closer hurts; it does not erase everyone behind the starter.

Bullpen Comparison

Factor KIA Tigers Samsung Lions
Game 1 relief innings 4⅔ 4⅓
Game 1 relief runs allowed 0 0
Immediate concern Consecutive-day workload Closing-role adjustment
Important detail Several appearances were short Established closer unavailable
What helps Tuesday Oller working deep Jurado limiting early traffic

The workload totals are similar. KIA’s relief innings followed an unexpected fifth-inning ejection, while Samsung went to its bullpen after its starter allowed five runs. Both groups finished well.

That makes starter length important for the side and total. Another early departure would put more of this game in the hands of pitchers appearing on consecutive days.

KIA Tigers vs Samsung Lions Picks and Prediction

Side Pick: KIA Tigers Moneyline at +100 or Better — Conditional Best Bet

I’ll take KIA at even money or better. Oller’s season-long run prevention and strikeout ability give the Tigers a useful starting point, and their power can produce runs against a pitcher who does not hand out many walks. Samsung’s missing closer adds a late-game complication. But the objections are substantial: Jurado has better control, Samsung was strong at home, and Oller has already had a disastrous outing in this park. Monday also reduced KIA’s relief freshness. Those factors keep this a modest preference. Pass at any favorite price. Calling KIA the projected winner does not make a heavily priced moneyline a good wager.

Total Pick: Under 9.5 Runs at -110 or Better

Nine and a half gives us enough room to consider the under with two capable starters. Jurado can limit free runners, Oller can strike hitters out, and the cooler evening provides modest support. There are clear reasons to be cautious. Both offenses can score, Oller’s command can disappear, and both bullpens worked more than four innings Monday. I want the protection of 9.5 without paying excessive juice. A 5–4 finish gets this home, while ten runs beats it. Pass below 9.5 or at a price worse than -110, and reassess if the starters change or the wind strongly favors carry.

Final Prediction

Samsung should offer more resistance than it did in the opener. Jurado’s control makes him a difficult pitcher to overwhelm, and the Lions have enough offense to put Oller under pressure.

I give KIA the narrow edge because of its strikeout advantage on the mound and extra-base threat at the plate. The required price remains part of the pick.

Projected Final Score: KIA Tigers 5, Samsung Lions 4

Final Picks: KIA moneyline at +100 or better — conditional BEST BET; Under 9.5 runs at -110 or better. Pass either wager if its entry requirement is unavailable.
