Brooklyn Nets vs Indiana Pacers Picks and Predictions for Sunday November 1 2026

Brooklyn visits Indiana on Sunday for a 5:00 p.m. ET game at Gainbridge Fieldhouse. Both teams need a response after Friday defeats, and Indiana’s injury list makes this a different matchup from its comfortable win in the first meeting. The Pacers are favored by four points, with the total at 230.5. I’m taking Brooklyn with the points while projecting Indiana to win narrowly.

Brooklyn Needs Better Possessions From Its Main Scorers

Brooklyn is 0-5 overall and 0-2 on the road after Friday’s 110-94 loss to Detroit. The Nets have shown competitive stretches, but they have not sustained enough useful offense and defense together. Sunday provides a more favorable offensive matchup than Detroit offered.

The Nets have averaged 110.2 points and allowed 121.2. Their defense makes an outright pick difficult, but Indiana has its own problems preventing points. Brooklyn needs to move the ball quickly enough to create favorable opportunities without turning those attempts into careless passes. Repeated empty possessions would allow the Pacers to establish separation.

Julius Randle scored 15 against Detroit, and Michael Porter Jr. added 13. That was insufficient production from two important offensive options. Randle has averaged 21.0 points through five games, showing why Brooklyn needs more efficient involvement from him. Egor Demin is out with a leg injury, reducing the available ball handling and placing more responsibility on the forwards.

Indiana Can Score, but Its Defense Has Become Difficult to Trust

Indiana is 2-4 overall and 0-2 at home after Friday’s 145-125 loss at Miami. The Pacers have dropped three straight. They beat Brooklyn 136-109 in the first meeting, but that result should not erase the changes to the available rotation or the defensive problems that followed.

The Pacers have averaged 116.7 points and allowed 119.8. Their latest game demonstrated that productive offense can still leave them well short when the defense fails. Indiana needs to contain Brooklyn’s initial attack without repeatedly exposing easy finishes or open perimeter attempts. Better defensive rebounding would also reduce the number of possessions it has to survive.

Pascal Siakam has averaged 22.2 points and 7.8 rebounds through six games. His scoring and ability to work from different positions remain important with Tyrese Haliburton out. Ivica Zubac and T.J. McConnell are also listed out, while Obi Toppin has a back concern. Those absences affect creation, interior defense and the quality of the second unit.

Brooklyn Nets vs Indiana Pacers Picks and Predictions

Spread Pick: Brooklyn Nets +4

I’m taking Brooklyn with the points while leaning Indiana outright. The Pacers retain the home floor and enough scoring to finish a close game, but their depleted rotation and recent defense make a comfortable margin difficult to trust. Brooklyn should find better opportunities than it did against Detroit. The strongest objection is that the Nets have not demonstrated they can execute consistently enough to take advantage, and the first meeting was not close. Even so, I expect a tighter rematch. My projection is Indiana 119, Brooklyn 116.

Total Pick: Over 230.5

Both defenses have allowed around 120 points per game, and Indiana just scored 125 despite missing important offensive personnel. Brooklyn has a reasonable route to improved production against that defense. My projection totals 235. The concern is the Nets’ inconsistent shot creation, particularly without Demin, leaving Indiana to carry too much of the number. A slower game with long, unsuccessful possessions would also weaken the over. I still prefer Over 230.5 because both teams have exploitable defensive problems and enough available scoring to contribute.
