LG Twins KBO baseball collage featuring Lucky and Star, players, fans and Jamsil Baseball Stadium in Seoul

Samsung Lions vs LG Twins Picks and Prediction for Sunday, September 6, 2026

The Samsung Lions and LG Twins close out their weekend series on Sunday, September 6, 2026, at Jamsil Baseball Stadium in Seoul, South Korea. First pitch is scheduled for 5:00 p.m. KST. Samsung enters the series finale after pulling out a dramatic 4-3 victory in 11 innings Saturday, a result that moved the Lions back into first place in the KBO standings. LG will try to answer at home after seeing its winning streak come to an end.

Samsung has been one of the hottest teams in the KBO and now gets a potentially favorable starting pitching matchup with Ariel Jurado expected to face Im Chan-kyu. LG has played excellent baseball of its own, making this one of the strongest games on Sunday’s five-game KBO schedule. The Lions also hold the advantage in the season series, giving us another reason to take a serious look at the visitors.

Widely available conventional sportsbook odds remain inconsistent for KBO games. At the time of this writing the odds were not released. Our target total for this matchup is 9.0, with Samsung on the moneyline serving as our strongest KBO wager of the day.

Starting Pitchers

Samsung is expected to start Ariel Jurado, who enters with a 5-1 record and 3.11 ERA across 17 appearances. Jurado has thrown 107 innings while producing a 1.25 WHIP, allowing 112 hits and only 22 walks. He has also delivered 13 quality starts. The primary concern is that Jurado has been working his way back from a right shoulder issue that cost him time, although Samsung gradually built his workload through multiple Futures League appearances before preparing him for a return during this LG series. LG counters with Im Chan-kyu, giving the Twins an experienced starter at Jamsil. Im also enters Sunday sitting one victory away from 100 career KBO wins, adding another storyline to an already significant matchup.

Samsung Back on Top After an Extra-Inning Win

Samsung couldn’t have asked for a much bigger response Saturday. After losing Friday’s series opener 4-3 and watching LG extend its winning streak to five games, the Lions answered with their own 4-3 victory Saturday. This one required 11 innings, with Samsung eventually pushing across the deciding run and protecting the lead in the bottom half.

More importantly, the victory returned Samsung to the top of the KBO standings. The Lions have spent much of the second half battling KT for first place, and their recent run has kept them firmly in the championship race. Samsung also entered the weekend having won seven straight before LG handed it consecutive losses, so Saturday’s victory prevented a short skid from becoming something more significant.

There is also something to like about how closely Samsung has played LG. The first two games of this series have both finished 4-3, with each club winning once. Samsung isn’t walking into Jamsil and overwhelming LG, but it continues to demonstrate that it can win close games against another contender. That matters when we’re considering a moneyline wager in what should again be a competitive matchup.

LG Looks to Protect Home Field at Jamsil

LG entered this series playing some of its best baseball of the season. Friday’s 4-3 comeback victory extended the Twins’ winning streak to five games after they swept Doosan in their previous three-game series. The Twins have consequently closed ground on the teams above them and remain very much involved near the top of the standings.

Saturday finally stopped that momentum, but losing 4-3 in 11 innings is hardly a reason to downgrade LG significantly. The Twins have now played Samsung essentially even through the first two games of the series, and Jamsil continues to give them the home-field advantage Sunday. LG also demonstrated Friday that it can erase a deficit against Samsung, coming back from 3-0 down to win.

The concern for LG is that Sunday could be the toughest starting matchup of the series if Jurado returns effectively. The Twins have already needed late-game execution to separate themselves from Samsung, and another low-scoring contest increases the importance of every early scoring opportunity. LG is absolutely capable of winning this game, but I don’t see enough separation to justify passing on Samsung if the Lions are available at an attractive moneyline price.

Samsung Lions vs LG Twins Picks and Prediction

Pick: Samsung Lions Moneyline

Samsung is my KBO Best Bet for September 6. The Lions reclaimed first place with Saturday’s 4-3 extra-inning victory and have now shown that they can answer LG’s home-field advantage in a tight game. The biggest reason for backing Samsung, however, is Jurado. His 3.11 ERA, 1.25 WHIP and 13 quality starts give Samsung an excellent starting profile if his return goes according to plan. LG deserves respect after its recent winning streak, but I’m backing the Lions to take the rubber game and leave Jamsil with the series victory.

Pick: Samsung Lions ML

Pick: Under 9.0

The first two games of this series have each finished 4-3, and Saturday needed two extra innings to reach even seven total runs. Jurado’s season-long numbers give Samsung a legitimate chance to control LG during the early and middle innings, while Im Chan-kyu provides LG with enough experience to prevent this from becoming a one-sided offensive game. The number matters: Under 9.0 is playable, Under 8.5 is still worth consideration at a smaller stake, but I would pass if the market falls to 7.5.

Pick: Under 9.0

Samsung Lions vs LG Twins Final Prediction

This has all the ingredients for another competitive game between two of the KBO’s strongest clubs. LG has home field and has been playing excellent baseball, but Samsung’s Saturday victory changed the complexion of the series and put the Lions back on top of the standings.

Jurado is the deciding factor in my handicap. If he’s reasonably close to the pitcher who produced a 3.11 ERA and 13 quality starts before his absence, Samsung should have an opportunity to take control early and turn the game over with a lead. After consecutive 4-3 games, I’m also reluctant to suddenly project an offensive explosion without a significant deterioration in the available total.

Final Picks

Best Bet: Samsung Lions ML

Total Pick: Under 9.0

Projected Score: Samsung Lions 5, LG Twins 3
