The Doosan Bears and KT Wiz continue their three-game series on Wednesday, August 26, 2026, at Suwon KT Wiz Park in Suwon, South Korea. First pitch is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. KST, with SBS SPORTS carrying the game. Doosan enters the matchup at 59-50-4 after taking Tuesday’s series opener 3-1, while KT fell to 64-42-3 but remains firmly involved in the KBO’s race for the top spot.
Doosan’s victory in the opener was particularly significant because the Bears held one of the KBO’s most productive offenses to just one run. The season-long comparison still favors KT offensively, with the Wiz batting around .279 compared with Doosan’s .270, but the Bears own the much stronger pitching profile. Doosan has carried a team ERA around 3.69, while KT sits around 4.38. KT also leads the season series, but Tuesday demonstrated why Doosan cannot be dismissed simply because the Wiz have been the better overall team.
At the time of this writing the odds were not released. Based on the matchup, my preferred betting approach is Doosan on the moneyline and Under 9.0 if the total is posted at nine. The under remains the stronger of the two selections.
Starting Pitchers
Doosan will start Zach Logue, while KT counters with Davis Daniel. Logue has been one of the more dependable pieces of the Doosan rotation this season. Entering his August 20 start against NC, he had worked 113.1 innings with a 6-6 record, 3.97 ERA, 1.32 WHIP and 99 strikeouts. He had also completed six innings in each of his previous three outings, allowing four runs against Samsung, one against LG and two against KIA. His control has generally been a strength, with only 22 walks across those 113.1 innings, although he has occasionally created traffic with hit batters.
Daniel is still establishing himself in the KBO after KT brought him in during the second half of the season. The right-hander made his league debut against NC on August 13 and allowed two runs on two hits and two walks through five innings. His second appearance came against LG on August 19, when he pitched five innings and surrendered seven hits but only one run, striking out three and taking the loss in a 1-0 game. That means Daniel has allowed only three runs over his first 10 KBO innings despite facing two competitive lineups. KT manager Lee Kang-chul has specifically praised the late life on Daniel’s two-seam fastball, while Daniel also mixes a cutter, changeup and sweeper.
This is the biggest reason the under stands out. Logue has demonstrated an ability to work deep enough to protect Doosan’s bullpen, while Daniel has immediately shown that he can keep games under control even without overpowering strikeout totals. Neither pitcher needs to dominate for Under 9.0 to cash. Five or six solid innings from each starter would leave the game in the hands of two clubs that just combined for four runs on Tuesday.
Doosan Bears Look to Build on Series-Opening Win
Doosan enters Wednesday with momentum after defeating KT 3-1 in the opener. The Bears received six innings of one-run baseball from Choi Min-seok, who improved to 12-3, and their pitching staff prevented KT from creating the type of extended scoring innings that have been a major part of the Wiz’s success this season. Doosan has now climbed to 59 wins and continues to push for a stronger postseason position.
Offensively, Doosan is not built around overwhelming home-run power. The Bears have hit roughly 84 home runs and are scoring about 4.7 runs per game, but they have enough balance to manufacture runs through contact, on-base ability and situational hitting. Park Jun-soon has been one of their most productive hitters, while Yang Eui-ji continues to provide middle-of-the-order power and veteran presence. Yang supplied one of Tuesday’s biggest moments by hitting the 300th home run of his career, becoming the oldest catcher in KBO history to reach that milestone.
The matchup with Daniel will require patience. Daniel has shown enough movement on his fastball and enough variation in his secondary pitches to make aggressive early-count swings dangerous. Doosan’s best path is to force him into longer at-bats, make him work from the stretch and avoid allowing him to cruise through five innings on a low pitch count. The Bears do not necessarily need five or six runs to win this game. If Logue delivers another quality start, three or four may be enough.
KT Wiz Need Their Offense to Respond
KT remains the stronger offensive club on paper. The Wiz are batting approximately .279 as a team and have scored around 5.5 runs per game, placing them among the more productive offenses in the KBO. Choi Won-jun has provided consistent contact and table-setting ability, while Ahn Hyun-min and Sam Hilliard give the lineup substantial damage potential. Hilliard has been one of KT’s primary power threats, and Ahn entered the second half as another major run producer.
Tuesday, however, was a reminder that KT can be slowed by quality starting pitching. The Wiz managed only one run in the 3-1 defeat, and Wednesday presents another relatively difficult assignment against Logue. KT’s offensive advantage becomes much less pronounced if it is forced to play from behind and rely on late innings against a Doosan pitching staff that has posted one of the league’s strongest ERAs.
KT does have a legitimate advantage in overall season position and has gone 6-3-1 against Doosan entering this series. That prevents me from treating the Bears as an obvious side despite Tuesday’s result. However, the matchup is closer than those standings suggest. Doosan’s pitching has been substantially better over the full season, and KT is asking Daniel to make only his third KBO start. If Daniel gives the Wiz another five innings of one- or two-run baseball, KT can certainly win. The concern is whether their offense can provide enough support against Logue.

Pick: Doosan Bears Moneyline
Doosan is the value side because the Bears have the better pitching profile and just demonstrated that they can neutralize KT’s lineup in Suwon. Logue gives them another credible starter after Tuesday’s strong performance from Choi Min-seok, and Doosan’s 3.69 team ERA provides a meaningful advantage over KT’s 4.38 mark. Daniel has pitched well in his first two KBO appearances, so this is not a fade of the KT starter. Instead, the wager is based on Doosan having a realistic starting-pitching edge, a stronger run-prevention profile and enough offense to win another close game. If KT opens as a significant favorite, the Bears become even more attractive.
Pick: Under 9.0
The under is the stronger play and remains my KBO Best Bet of the Day. Tuesday produced only four combined runs, and Wednesday’s starting matchup gives us another path toward a lower-scoring game. Logue has consistently worked into the sixth inning and enters with a season ERA around four, while Daniel has allowed just three runs through his first 10 KBO innings. KT’s offense is dangerous enough that I would not want to chase the number downward too aggressively, but Under 9.0 provides enough protection for a 5-3 or 4-3 result. I would still consider Under 8.5 at a smaller stake, while Under 8.0 would be a pass.
