Samsung Lions players, mascot and Daegu Samsung Lions Park for KBO picks and predictions

KT Wiz vs Samsung Lions Picks and Prediction for Sunday, November 8, 2026

Samsung scored six runs in the first inning Saturday. Now the Lions have one more game in Daegu to finish the job before the series would move back to Suwon. KT visits Daegu Samsung Lions Park on Sunday, November 8, for Korean Series Game 5. First pitch is 2:00 p.m. KST, or 12:00 a.m. EST, with MBC carrying the Korean broadcast. Samsung leads the best-of-seven series 3–1. A November 7 odds snapshot listed KT -142 and Samsung +116 at FanDuel, with a consensus total of 9.5 runs.

The park is open-air. At first pitch, the Daegu forecast calls for overcast skies, about 55°F, near-calm sustained wind, gusts around 4 mph and less than a 10% chance of precipitation. The cool air offers modest support for the under, with little wind expected to affect fly balls.

Starting Pitchers

2026 Regular Season Davis Daniel — KT Won Tae-in — Samsung
Record 5–2 7–9
ERA 2.13 4.52
WHIP 1.15 1.39
Innings 55 145⅓
Strikeouts 69 117
Walks 18 34
Home Runs Allowed 2 6

Daniel is the best reason to think KT can extend the series. He struck out seven without a walk in the opener and held Samsung to two hits through six innings. The Lions got to him when he returned for the seventh, and he finished with three runs allowed over six innings. Sunday is his first outing in this park, so the Game 1 performance in Suwon only tells us so much.

Won returns to the rotation after working out of the bullpen this postseason, including in Game 2. He had a 3.25 ERA in five regular-season outings against KT, better than his 4.52 overall mark. He also allowed just six homers in 145⅓ innings. Samsung would benefit from some length after its bullpen game Saturday, but how far Won can go is one of the questions I have about this matchup.

KT Needs a Clean Start to Keep the Series Alive

KT finished the regular season 90–49–5 and went 45–25–3 on the road. The Wiz scored first Saturday, only to give up six in the bottom of the first. They got three runs back in the fifth but never erased the early damage in a 10–5 loss.

The Wiz batted .286 with a .367 on-base percentage and scored 825 runs during the regular season. Their staff posted a 4.14 ERA and allowed 649 runs. That’s a better season-long balance than Samsung had, and it’s why I still take KT seriously even after three straight losses.

KT covered seven innings in relief Saturday after its starter lasted one. An efficient opening from Sunday’s starter would let the Wiz save their bullpen for the innings where the game is most likely to turn. At the plate, they could use the same patience they showed in Game 4, when they scored five runs on just four hits.

Samsung Gets One More Chance to Clinch in Daegu

The Lions finished 83–58–3 in the regular season and went 43–29–1 at home. Saturday’s win was their third straight in the series. They scored in four different innings, so even after the six-run first, KT had trouble putting together a stretch of quiet innings to get back in it.

Samsung hit .273 with 140 home runs and scored 806 runs in the regular season. Its staff finished with a 4.31 ERA and allowed 669 runs. The Lions hit 19 more homers than KT, which matters here because one mistake can change a game that otherwise looks like a decent pitching matchup.

Samsung’s bullpen workload is the concern. The Lions used a planned bullpen game Saturday, and their regular closer has been sidelined. I’d give Samsung a better chance of protecting a late lead if it can get into the sixth with its starter and avoid asking the relief staff to cover another long stretch.

KT Wiz vs Samsung Lions Picks and Prediction

Side Pick: Samsung Lions Moneyline +115 or Better

I’m taking the home underdog. KT has the better starter on season numbers, and we saw how hard he was to hit through six innings in Game 1. But Samsung eventually broke through in that game, and its own starter held KT to a 3.25 ERA across five regular-season outings. I see a close game where the Lions’ power and last at-bat are worth backing at +115 or better. The shorter the price gets, the less willing I am to take on the gap in starting pitching.

Total Pick: Under 9.5 Runs at -125 or Better

Saturday’s 15 runs started with a six-run first inning. Sunday’s pitching matchup gives me a better reason to expect a quieter start. KT’s starter struck out seven without a walk in the opener, and Samsung’s starter kept the ball in the park throughout the regular season. The bullpen workload is the real threat to this pick, particularly if either starter is out before the fifth. I still like having room for nine runs and would play Under 9.5 at -125 or better.

Projected Final Score: Samsung Lions 5, KT Wiz 3

Final Picks: Samsung Lions moneyline +115 or better (best bet) | Under 9.5 runs at -125 or better
