Pedro Ávila gives SSG the largest starting-pitching advantage on Wednesday’s KBO schedule. The right-hander has allowed only ten earned runs across 64 innings since joining the Landers. He has recorded 64 strikeouts, permitted just 45 hits and has not surrendered a home run through his first ten starts.
Ávila continued his dominant run by holding Hanwha to one run over six innings in his latest appearance. He allowed three hits, struck out six and earned the victory in SSG’s 4-3 win. Ávila’s ERA increased slightly from 1.40 to 1.41, but his performance through ten KBO starts remains historically impressive.
Jeremy Beasley has produced a much different statistical profile. He has accumulated 138 strikeouts over 131 innings, but he has also allowed 150 hits and 75 earned runs. Beasley was hit especially hard in his latest start, surrendering nine runs and ten hits over four innings in Lotte’s 16-3 loss to KT.
