KBO Preview

Hanwha Eagles Preview

The Eagles were able to pull off what many, ourselves included, to be a stunning upset of the SSG Landers team. Not only did Hanwha win the game, but did so in convincing fashion that really makes the Eagles look good. The win came by a score of 6-0 and was a dominating pitching performance from the Eagles. The win moved the Eagles up to a 2-1 record. On the year Hanwha has ended up hitting at a clip of .242 with 4 homers, but have posted a 3.12 ERA so far.

When it comes to the hitting the Eagles are being led by Lee Won-seok with an average of 1.00 in limited action and only a single plate appearance.. The Eagles power hitting has seen Yonathan Perlaza hit a total of 2 homers on the year, but the Eagles to have Roh Si-hwan and Chae Eun-seong both with a single homer. Producing the runs on the season for the Eagles has been handled mainly Chae Eun-seong with 5 RBIs each.

Ricardo Sanchez is the starter getting the nod in this game for the Eagles. Last season Sanchez posted a 3.79 ERA with a 1.30 WHIP in 24 games. However, Ricardo did end up with a 7-8 record on the season. Ricardo did throw a total of 126 innings and allowed 136 hits while walking 28 batters, but only struck out 99 batters.

SSG Landers Preview

SSG is going to look to bounce back from the upsetting loss in their last game. The Landers team as a whole is now hitting at a clip of .226 with 4 homers. However, the Landers team now has a 3.00 ERA on the year. Still, even after the stunning loss to Hanwha the Eagles are sitting on a 2-1 record on the year.

SSG has only played in two games on the year so far, but the hitting has been led by Cho Hyeong-woo with a .667 average. Choi Jeong is the leader when it comes to powering the ball out of the park with a total of 2 homers on the year. Jeong has also managed to lead the Landers team in run production with a total of 6 runs brought home.

Park Jong-hun is heading to the mound in this game here. Last year Jong-hun ended up throwing a total of 80 innings and gave up 77 hits and 60 walks, but struck out 56 batters. Still, Park ended up throwing in 18 games and posted a 2-6 record, but had a high 1.71 WHIP and an even higher 6.19 ERA.

Eagles vs Landers Pick: Over 8

Hanwha was able to take advantage of the last pitcher that the Landers team put on the mound and he was new. However, in this game the Landers team is putting Park Jong-hun on the mound and he is a KBO veteran. That is going to cause some issues for the Landers pitching in this game, but the Landers bats should come alive in this game here as well as Ricardo Sanchez is not that great of a pitcher either. That leads us to thinking the over will hit in this game, but we are thinking the over 8 will be a good mark.
