KBO Preview

Samsung Lions Preview

The Lions are heading to the game here sitting on a 2-0 record. The last game on the field for the Lions ended up being an 11-8 win over the KT Wiz. Samsung has been impressive on the hitting with a .367 average and 2 homers on the season. The Lions have posted a 4.26 ERA on the season so far.

The Lions do have Kim Jae-seong who has not missed on the year so far when it comes to hits. However, the power production for the Lions has come from Kang Min-ho and Kim Young-woong who have both hit a homer. The player who has brought home the most runs is Young-woong and he has managed to get 4 RBIs on the year.

The Lions are putting Baek Jung-hyun on the mound in this game. Last year Baek ended up posing a 3.67 ERA in a total of 100 2/3 innings. In that pitching Jung-hyun allowed 100 hits and struck out only 61 batters while walking 30. Still in 18 games pitched Baek posted a 7-5 record and a 1.29 WHIP.

LG Twins Preview

The Twins are coming to this game after being handed a loss in their last game. The loss for the Twins came against the Hanwha Eagles by a score of 8-4. The loss dropped the LG squad to a 1-1 record on the year so far. This season LG has hit at a clip of .300 with no homers as a team. The Twins have posted a 5.00 ERA on the year.

LG has not been lucky when it comes to the hitting with Moon Sung-ju being the leader with a .571 average. With no homers it is easy to see the Twins are lacking in the power department. The Twins run production has been handled mainly by Park Hae-min and Shin Min-Jae who have managed to bring home 3 runners each.

Casey Kelly is the starter getting the nod in this game for the Twins. Kelly started in 30 games last season and posted a 10-7 record. Casey did end up getting a 3.83 ERA and a 1.24 WHIP. In a total of 178 2/3 innings pitched, though, Kelly allowed only 183 hits, 39 walks and struck out a total of 129 batters.

Lions vs Twins Pick: Samsung Lions

The Lions are the better team in this game here. However, that does not mean that the Twins are going to give up the game easily. Look for the Twins to play good in the game here and for Kelly to keep the Lions offense in check. However, once Kelly is out of the game the bullpen for the Twins gives up the game.
