Doosan comes to this game here after dropping the last meeting with SSG. The loss came by a score of 5-3 in what was a good back and forth game before the Landers team was able to seal the deal late in the game. The loss dropped the Bears to a record of 4-6 on the year, but is now sitting in 7th place in the KBO.
The pitching going to get the nod for the Bears in this game is Raul Alcantara. This year Alcantara has posted a 1.59 ERA and a 0.97 WHIP in 2 starts, with a 0-1 record. Raul has thrown a total of 11 1/3 innings giving up only 3 runs, but has allowed 9 hits. The overall pitching has been decent with only 2 walks and 6 strikeouts. The overall pitching for Doosan has not been that great with a 5.59 ERA. However, the opponents are even hitting the Bears hard as the Bears have allowed the opponents to get a .284 average and the Bears are posting a 1.62 WHIP.
The overall hitting for Doosan has the team sitting on a .268 average. However, the Bears have posted a total of 13 homers and 6 steals on the year so far. Doosan has managed to score a total of 57 runs. The hitting leader for the Bears is Kang Seung-ho is coming in with a total of 43 plate appearances and has posted a .390 average on the season. SSG looked good in the win, but had some issues at the start of the game. The Landers team, though, did move to a record of 7-3 on the year overall. This has the Landers team sitting in 3rd place on the year in the KBO which is a spot that SSG has been used to sitting in.
Kim Kwang-hyun is heading to the game here for his third start on the year. So far this year he has posted a 2-0 record, but has a 3.27 ERA and a 1.27 WHIP. In his two starts, Kim Kwang-hyun, has posted a total of 11 innings with only 4 runs allowed and 8 hits, but one of those hits went out of the park. Kim has struck out a total of 13 batters, but has given up 6 walks on the year. SSG on the season has allowed the opponents to hit at a clip of .234 with a 1.42 WHIP. Still, the team ERA for SSG is sitting at 3.82 on the year.
SSG has been led in the hitting by Lee Ji Young who has managed to come to the plate 29 times, but has seen his average slip to a .357. Choi Jeong and Han Yoo Seom has managed to split the power lead for SSG with 5 homers each. Choi is also the leader when it comes to bringing home the runners with 14 RBIs. Landers has managed to hit decent with a .277 average and have scored a total of 56 runs. The power game for SSG is tops in the KBO with 16 homers, but have only managed to get 9 swipes of the bases on the year so far.
Doosan Bears vs SSG Landers 4/4/24 Pick: SSG Landers
Doosan is a team that I think can be good, but they have to spread out their offensive production more, but also have better overall presence on the mound. Neither one of those things has happened so far for Doosan this year and the Landers team seems to have gotten it together lately and that will show up in this game here again as we like the SSG Landers team to secure the win at home in this game.
