Detroit Tigers at Minnesota Twins 8/25/19 MLB Free Pick
The Detroit Tigers are one of those teams that always seems to start the season with a lot of hope. However, just like a balloon that is faced with a needle, the hope gets quickly removed as the Tigers do not have the talent or the depth on the roster to help the team climb out of the hole they always seem to be in. The Twins, are a surprising team that showed some potential last year, but this year the Twins have really launched that potential into the lead this year. Granted, the Indians are giving the Twins some fits and a potential run for the money, but the way the Twins have been playing it will be hard to catch them as long as they stay healthy.

Boyd is a decent strikeout pitcher with 201 strikeouts, but what else is impressive is he has pitched only 153 innings on the year. He has allowed 30 homers this year with 141 hits total, but only 37 walks.

Perez has allowed 139 hits this year, but walks will haunt and that could be an issue for Perez with 56 walks on the season so far.

My FREE MLB Pick: Detroit Tigers +152
The Tigers are definitely a team that could be hard to pick as a winner in this game. However, I think that the Twins are outmatched as Perez walks to many batters. Granted, he does not give up a lot of long balls, which is definitely a plus, but does not matter as the Tigers do not hit a lot of homers. The Twins, though, for all their pluses offensively will struggle against Boyd who has actually been decent for the Tigers and can run the lineup through rather easily as he sits them down on strikes. Final Score, Detroit Tigers win in an upset by a 3-2 score.
