Dan Ige vs Edson Barboza -5/16/20 UFC Fight Night Pick & Prediction

UFCWith this fight here it will be very interesting to see what happens as Dan Ige is still a fairly young fighter with 15 bouts under his belt. However, Barboza is coming in as the more experienced fighter, but has ended up losing quite a few more fights than what is expected. In fact, what is really interesting is the fact that the bookmakers have Barboza as the favorite and that could be an issue here.

Dan Ige is coming into the fight here with the orthodox stance, but when it comes to his fighting style he has been able to become well known for his ability to wrestle. That makes it quite a bit easier to see that Ige is one fighter that needs to be taken seriously. In his last fight Ige ended up winning by a split decision over Mirsad Bektic in what ended up being a split decision, but it was in February of this year. The win allowed Ige to improve to 13-2 in the record department an when it comes to the TKO/KO mark he is 3-0, but he is unbeaten in the submission record at 5-0.

Barboza uses the orthodox style of fighting stance. However, when it comes to the fighting style he has been seen more of a striker and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu style of fighter which is a great combination. In his last fight in September Barboza ended up losing to Paul Felder by a split decision. The downside for the last 5 fights is Barboza has been horrible winning only 1 of those fights. The recent losses have dropped him to a 20-8 record in his career. He has done decent in the TKO/KO mark at 12-3, but when it comes to submission fighting he is horrible with a 1-2 record.

Dan Ige is heading into the featherweight fight with a height disadvantage at 5’7” and 145 pounds. Ige has ended up getting what can be seen as a decent reach at 71 inches. Barboza is heading into the fight standing at 5’11” and 145 pounds. When it comes to his reach, though, he has ended up getting a reach that is at 75 inches.

Dan Ige vs Edson Barboza Prediction – Dan Ige +110

Honestly, I am hoping this fight is better than what it will end up being. The styles are somewhat similar with the exception of the striking that is seen from Barboza. However, the speed and overall fighting ability of Ige is quite a bit better than what Barboza will be able to do in this fight. Not to mention Barboza has looked horrible in the past few fights and that will show up here again as Ige is able to bring home the win.
