Alistair Overeem vs Walt Harris – UFC Fight Night 5/16/20 Pick & Prediction

UFCThe heavyweight battle here is going to feature a couple of fighters that have been around for quite some time. Overeem actually is heading into the fight here with a total of 63 matches under his belt. For Harris this will be his 21st battle as he has already fought in 20 fights. Now, both of the fighters are coming in with the same fighting style and when it comes to the stance, they are different, but that will help make the match more interesting.

Alistair Overeem will fight here with his typical orthodox style of stance. However, he also is planning on using the striker style that he is known for as well. In this last fight Overeem ended up going to the 5th round before getting a TKO/KO loss handed to him by Jairzinho Rozenstruik. The loss dropped the veteran fighter to a 45-18 record overall. When it comes to the TKO/O record he sits on a 23-14 mark so far. However, Overeem is a great submission fighter with a 17-1 record.

Harris is heading into the fight with the southpaw style of stance, but also with a good striker style that is able to hit rather hard. In his last fight Harris was able to score a TKO/KO win in the first round over Aleksei Oleinik. The win allowed Harris to improve to a 13-7 record in his career. When it comes to the TKO/KO fights, though, Harris has done really well at 13-2. Harris  has not won a submission fight yet and that has him sitting at 0-1.

The tail of the tape will show that Overeem does not have the advantage of height or weight as he is coming in at 6’4” and 248 pounds. However, when it comes to the reach Overeem does have a slight advantage as his reach is at 80 inches. Walt Harris comes in slightly heavier and only an inch taller at 6’5” and 255 pounds. The downside is for being the bigger man in the fight Harris only has a reach of 77 inches.

Alistair Overeem vs Walt Harris Prediction – Walt Harris -160

In this fight Overeem is not favored and with the way that he has fought lately it is very easy to see why. Yes, Overeem has fought good, but has ended up getting a KO or TKO loss handed to him in most of his last few fights. Harris, though, has done decent with a 3-1-1 record and the loss was a DQ and the draw was an overturned decision, so he has not technically lost by any main fault of his own. Look for Harris to win this fight rather quickly and the result will end up as a TKO/KO as Overeem is starting to look like Glassjaw Joe from Mike Tyson Knock Out lately.
