Ricky Simon vs Ray Borg – UFC Fight Night 5/13/20 Pick & Prediction

UFCA bantamweight fight tends to bring a lot of fast paced action that typically does not have a lot of heavy body blows. The battle here though with Simon vs Borg will actually have one who is known more of a striker going to face off against their opponent, Borg, who is known more as a grappler. The contrasting fighting styles definitely will make the bantamweight fight here to be one of the better ones in the if you are looking for some great fast paced action.

Simon is coming into the fight here needing to get off of his losing streak. Ricky Simon has dropped his last 2 fights and one of those was a horrible showing for Simon who lost it by unanimous decision. The other bout was a KO/TKO finish. The 3 bouts before that, though, Simon showed he can go the distance with 2 of them finishing in a unanimous decision and one of them dating all the way back to April of 2018 was a KO/TKO. The recent losses dropped Ricky Simon to a 15-3 record and a 6-1 record in the TKO/KO. However, submission style of fighting is not his cup of tea as he is sitting on a 1-1 record.

Ray Borg is coming into the fight here after picking up a couple of wins by a unanimous decision. However, the past 2 bouts for that were losses with one of them being a decision, but the other was a loss by submission. Borg was not even in any bouts in 2018 and then had 3 fights in 2019. With the most recent wins Borg was able to improve to a 13-4 record overall, but when it comes to the KO/TKO he is only 1-0 in his career. The specialty that Borg is known for is the submission fights which show him sitting at 6-1.

The tape is showing that Ricky Simon is coming in standing at 5’6” and 135 pounds. Simon does have a decent reach that is sitting at 69 inches. Ray Borg is coming in giving up some height as he is sitting at 5’4” and also is a little bit lighter as he weighs in at 125 pounds. Borg also has a lot shorter reach when it comes to striking as Borg has a reach of 60 inches.

Ricky Simon vs Ray Borg Prediction – Ricky Simon

The tale of the tape can tell a lot about the fights and in this fight Simon is coming in aces on all accounts. He has the height and weight advantage, but also a reach advantage of 6 inches which should keep Borg at bay. Borg is more of a submission fighter and that leads to him taking a lot of blows to get in close. Look for those blows to add up quickly on Borg and eventually put him down in the fight as Ricky Simon comes out on top.
