New York Liberty at Indiana Fever 6/1/19 – WNBA Pick, Preview, Prediction

The Liberty have had quite a few struggles this year already. In preseason they were not impressive as the offense seemed to go missing, but it did not help that the defense did not show up either. Then to open the season up the Liberty played Indiana, but still fell short in the game. The difference is the Liberty were able to get within a point of the Fever in the opening game loss. Indiana for their part was able to play decent for most of the season and actually have been able to win most of the games this season, including the preseason. The last game out for the Fever, though, was an 11 point loss to the Sun.

The Liberty saw Tina Charles score a total of 32 points on the season thus far. However, after her the scoring really drops off as Kia Nurse is the second leading scorer and has only been able to get a total of 12 points per game. Charles even leads the Liberty in rebounding with a total of 12 boards a game, 4 of those were on the offensive glass. Bria Hartley has managed to get a total of 4 assists a game this year. When it comes to stealing the ball the Liberty saw Rebecca Allen manage to lead the team with 2 steals.

Indiana Fever Preview

The Fever have done a decent job spreading the scoring around this year as Erica Wheeler has managed to score a total of 21 points a game. She has been helped out by Candice Dupree who has ended up getting 16 points a game. Dupree even leads the Fever in rebounding this season with a total of 7.5 boards a game. Erica Wheeler has been able to average 7 assist a game on the year so far. When it comes to stealing the ball the Fever have had some impressive games at 2.5 steals a game from Betnijah Laney.

Okay, the Liberty have really struggled on the season so far and that has not really helped them look like an impressive team on the season, let alone one that could threaten anyone on the season. The Fever, though, are definitely looking like a team that could come into the game and win quite a few games here if the offense is able to show up big in the games and that could be a challenge to play consistently good. The Fever, though, do a great job of spreading the ball around this year and that can help the Fever out in this game against the Liberty who have struggled as the Indiana Fever bring home a win.
