NFL action is set to take place on 8/12/22 and it will feature New York Jets at Philadelphia Eagles. The game is set to take place at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The game starts at 7:30 PM EST and should be televised only on the local channels.

Jets

The Jets are heading to the season looking to move up in the league, but that could be a challenge. The Jets last season ended up finishing the year at 4–12 on the year. In the AFC East the New York Jets ended up playing horrible with an 0-6 record on the year overall.

Jets Offense

The quarterback position is somewhat shaky in New York with the Jets having Joe Flacco in the fold as well, but look for Zach Wilson to have a chance to build up on his season last year. Wilson ended up going 213/383 for 2,334 yards with 9 touchdowns, but was horrible in finding the opponent with 11 picks. The rushing offense did manage to get a boost from Michael Carter who carried the ball 147 times for 639 yards and 4 touchdowns. With the offensive line it did have some holes plugged this year with the addition of Laken Tomlinson from the 49ers in free agency.

Jets Defense

The defense for New York was horrible giving up a league worse 398 yards per game, but it had 259 yards allowed in the air and 138 yards allowed on the ground. The Jets allowed only 29.6 points per game, but did end up with a horrible 7 picks and picked up 33 sacks. The Jets defense did lose a lot of power on the line with Foley Fatukasi leaving the Jets as quickly as possible to go to the Jaguars.

Philadelphia is coming here after hitting the Wild Card spot last season. The Eagles finished the year at 9-9 last season overall. However, in the NFC East the Eagles ended up moving to a 3-3 record and that is impressive for how weak the NFC East has been.

Eagles Offense

The Eagles are looking to see if the deal for Jalen Hurts pays off. Last year Hurts ended up going 265/432 for 3,144 yards with 16 touchdowns and 9 picks. However, Hurts was unable to really make it big when it was needed for Philadelphia. Sadly Hurts does need some support as Hurts led in the rushing with 139 carries for 784 yards and 10 rushing touchdowns. The second leading rusher was Miles Sanders who carried the ball 137 times for 754 yards and no touchdowns.

Eagles Defense

Defensively the Eagles did not look that bad overall with 329 yards per game allowed, 221 yards per game in the air and 108 yards per game on the ground. The Eagles did give up 22.6 points per game and only managed to get 12 picks with 29 sacks. Philadelphia is brining back 8 starters from last year and did add in Haason Reddick who should provide some added pass rush threat from the linebacker position.

New York Jets at Philadelphia Eagles Odds: Jets +1.5, Eagles -1.5

Over/Under Odds: 33

Jets at Eagles Pick: Philadelphia Eagles -1.5, Under 33

Odds from Betonline.ag

The game here is difficult to call as neither one of these teams have a good offense. However, the Eagles have a better offensive unit that has more cohesion compared to the Jets. The Jets defense is still going to try to get balanced out in how they are playing and that is not going to happen in this game and that is why I see the Eagles getting the win and covering. Still, the Jets offense is unable to do much to threaten the total in this game here.
