The Giants are heading to the 2022 season after finishing with a 4-13 record last year. The divisional record was just as dismal for the Giants and had a record of 1-4. No matter what, the Giants did make some key additions that should help them at least get more divisional wins.

Daniel Jones is slated to be the starting quarterback for the Giants this year. Jones last season had a lot of issues and only went 232/361 for 2428 yards and 10 touchdowns with 7 picks. Saquon Barkley should be back this yaer and last year he carried the ball 162 times for 593 yards and 2 touchdowns. One of the big additions is the addition of Evan Neal who could help shore up a leaky offensive line.

Defensively New York has to show some improvement as well. The Giants defense allowed 355 yards per game overall, but when the opponent threw the ball gave up 226 yards per game and allowed 129 yards per game on the ground. The Giants did give up a total of 25 points per game and was horrible in the defense. The pass rush only managed to get 34 sacks and 15 picks last year.

New England would like to improve even more off of the season last year. The Patriots finished the season last year with a 10-8 mark overall. The divisional record for a Patriots team that is used to dominating the division was very disappointing finishing at 3-3.

Last year the Patriots had a great year from Mac Jones. Jones went 352/521 for 3801 yards 22 touchdowns and only 13 picks. The return of Damien Harris who carried the ball 202 times for 929 yards and 15 touchdowns will definitely help shore up the offensive attack from New England. DeVante Parker should definitely provide plenty of support for the Patriots offense and add in some flare and deep threats.

The defense will be looking to replace a couple of star players. Dont’a Hightower and J.C. Jackson have both left the Patriots this year. As a team the Patriots defense allowed 311 yards of total offense and gave up only 187 yards in the air and 124 on the ground. The defense for New England allowed only 18 points per game on average. The Patriots did get 36 sacks and a total of 23 picks in the game.

Odds from Betonline.ag

New England is coming to the game here with a lot better offense, but also a defense that is very balanced, but that was last year. This season the Patriots defense has a lot of question marks and some of those could be answered in this game here as the Patriots have a couple of big defensive shoes to fill. The Giants are coming in with only up to go and that will help the Giants out to a point, but still the Giants have more question marks and an offense that is not really that good on consistent play. With that being the case I see the Patriots winning the game and covering it, but the total should go on the under.
