NFL action is set to take place on 8/14/22 and it will feature Minnesota Vikings at Las Vegas Raiders. The game is set to take place at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, Nevada. The game starts at 4:25 PM EST and should be televised locally.

The Vikings are coming here after a season that was all over the place last year. The Vikings would look good at points, but other points left people wondering if they watched a high school game. The Vikings finished the year at 8-9 overall, but when it comes to the division record Minnesota finished at 4-2. Kevin O’Connell gets his first season as an NFL head coach with Minnesota this year.

Vikings Offense

The Vikings are bringing back Kirk Cousins this year to guide the team. Last year Cousins went 372/561 for 4,221 yards with 33 touchdowns and 7 picks. The rushing offense for the Vikings was led by Dalvin Cook who carried the ball 249 times for 1,159 yards and a total of 6 touchdowns. The Vikings are bringing back 10 starters on the offensive side of the ball, but did lose Tyler Conklin who was one of the better tight ends in the league.

Vikings Defense

When it comes to the defense the Vikings allowed 384 yards per game with 253 yards per game allowed in the air and 131 yards on the ground. The Vikings allowed only 25.1 points per game, but did end up with 16 picks and picked up 51 sacks. The Vikings did add in Za’Darius Smith to help shore up the defense that is bringing back 8 starters from the season last year.

The Raiders were able to play in the Hall of Fame game. In the game the Raiders were dominating force on both sides of the ball by getting the win by a score of 27-11. The win moved the Raiders to a 1-0 record in the preseason.

Raiders Offense

The Raiders offense was led by 3 different quarterbacks who went a combined 20/32 for 162 yards with no touchdowns, but they were sacked for a combined 5 times for 41 yards lost. The rushing attack was led by Zamir White with 11 carries for 52 yards, but the Raiders picked up 33 carries and 159 yards with 3 touchdowns.

Raiders Defense

The defense for the Raiders was fairly impressive facing 2 different Jaguar quarterbacks. The Jaguars quarterbacks went a combined 23/42 for 214 yards and a touchdown, but were sacked only 1 time for 7 yards lost. The rushing defense allowed 59 yards on 16 carries from the Jacksonville offense.

Minnesota Vikings at Las Vegas Raiders Odds: Vikings +2.5, Raiders -2.5

Vikings at Raiders Pick: Las Vegas Raiders -2.5, Under 34

Odds from Betonline.ag

The Raiders have already picked up a win on the year and that will give the Raiders a much needed boost of confidence. Look for that confidence to carry over into this game here and that will make it easier to see the Raiders secure the win here. However, I do not see the total being threatened here as the Vikings to have a better defense than the Jaguars.
