Miami vs Florida 8/24/19 College Football Pick

Talk about a way to kick off the college football season. You have a couple of storied programs that are going to be butting heads here as the Miami Hurricanes will face the Florida Gators in this game. Granted, it is a neutral site game, but it will be one that packs the stands and with how well both of these teams are predicted to do this year it will be very difficult to have one of these two teams pull ahead in the game and really control it, which makes it a great game for the fans. No matter what, the Miami vs Florida 8/24/19 College Football Pick will be a great game for everyone to watch.

Miami Hurricanes Preview

The Hurricanes have a lot to overcome of the offensive side of the ball. While N’Kosi Perry did start 6 games as a redshirt freshman last year, he did have some competition this year at quarterback. Some of that competition even came on the highly touted Ohio State transfer Tate Martell. The Hurricanes are returning one wide receiver and a tight end on the year. What else could help is the left side of the line is coming back as well to start. With a freshman right guard starting, though, the Hurricanes could be overmatched on that side by the Gators defense.

Defensively the Miami squad could be tested early on. The main experience for the Miami Hurricanes defense is the linebackers. The line is returning a couple of starters, but even then it is not very experienced and the depth could be an issue as well if one of the experienced players do go down. Not to mention the ends for the Hurricanes are relatively light at 250 pounds on one side and 255 pounds on the other side. The secondary is returning only a single starter in this game and on the year the team will have to develop the secondary quickly with some of the decent passing squads they will face.

Florida Gators Preview

The Florida Gators are definitely going to lean on Feleipe Franks in this game as he is the first returning starter for the Gators since 2014. He did really decent last season as he improved to the point of throwing a total of 31 touchdowns, but only allowed 6 picks. Franks does have all 3 of his receivers coming back to the game as well, which will help out. The major issue for the Gators offense will be the line which is returning the line play-caller at center in Nick Buchanan who is a senior this year. Right next to him is a freshman starting at right guard, but the rest of the line is first time starters as juniors.

The Florida Gators are heading into the season defensively with a good outlook. The Gators are returning 3 starters on the lines, but do have to replace Jacchai Polite who was the machine who ran the defense for the Gators and was a great rusher from the edge. Now, a question mark could be the linebacking position which is returning only a single starter on the year. The defensive backfield, usually is in the nickel formation all the time, but only needs to replace a single cornerback on the year and that spot is being filled by Marco Wilson a sophomore who has shown a lot of potential on the year.

Hurricanes vs Gators Line: Florida Gators -7.5 O/U 46.5

My Free College Football Pick: Florida Gators -7.5

The Hurricanes offense will have issues in this game. The Gators are a team that is returning a talented group that helped Franks become a great quarterback last year. What else helps the Gators out is the defense is returning almost completely intact to face a Miami Hurricanes offense that is replacing a lot of the starters. Not to mention the defensive ends of the Hurricanes is really light and should be easy to be pushed around and easily handled. Even with the missing player of Polite the Gators will keep the pressure on the Hurricanes quarterback in this game. Final Score, Florida Gators win and cover the spread 45-31.
