NFL action is set to take place on 8/13/22 and it will feature Miami Dolphins at Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The game is set to take place at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa Bay, Florida. The game starts at 7:30 PM EST and should be televised locally.

Dolphins

Last year the Dolphins had a good run at times, but could not sustain the runs. The Dolphins finished the year at a mark of 9-8 on the year. Miami in the divisional record ended up sitting at 4-2. The Dolphins have a new head coach this year in Mike McDaniel.

Dolphins Offense

The Dolphins are bringing back a total of 10 starters on the field this year and that could help consistency. However, this does not discount that Tua Tagovailoa is on the hot seat. Last year Tua went 263/388 for 2,653 yards and 16 touchdowns with 10 picks, but was not consistent in playing. Leading the rushing offense was Myles Gaskin who carried the ball 173 times for 612 yards and 3 touchdowns. One big addition that should help Tua bolster his numbers was the speed burner in Tyreek Hill from the Chiefs.

Dolphins Defense

The defense for Miami ended up being a middle of the pack defense with 338 yards allowed overall, but the passing defense allowed 228 yards per game, but gave up 110 yards per game on the ground. The Dolphins allowed only 21.9 points per game, but did end up with 14 picks and picked up 48 sacks. All of the starters are coming back from the Dolphins defensive side of the ball and that could definitely help bolster the confidence of the defense.

Tampa Bay is looking to have Brady back for another year this season. This is coming off of the Buccaneers finishing at 14-5 last year. The Bucs in the division ended up finishing at a record of 4-2 on the year. When it comes to the head coach the Buccaneers have a new man in Todd Bowles.

Buccaneers Offense

It does look like Tom Brady will be back again this year to lead the team. Last year Brady went 485/719 for 5,316 yards and 43 touchdowns with 12 picks. The leading rusher for the Buccaneers was Leondard Fournette who carried the ball 180 times for a total of 812 yards with 8 touchdowns. The offense is bringing back a total of 7 starters, but did add in Russell Gage who could help the Buccaneers out.

Buccaneers Defense

Defensively the Buccaneers were one of the better defenses in the league giving up only 332 yards per game, but allowed 239 yards in the air and 93 yards per game on the ground. The Tampa Bay team did give up 20.8 points per game and only managed to get 17 picks with 47 sacks. The defensive side of the ball is bringing back a total of 8 starters, but the defense did lose Jordan Whitehead who was one of the better safeties in the league.

Miami Dolphins at Tampa Bay Buccaneers Odds: Dolphins -1.0, Buccaneers +1.0

Over/Under Odds: 31.5

Dolphins at Buccaneers Pick: Miami Dolphins -1, Over 31.5

Odds from Betonline.ag

The only reason that the Dolphins are my pick here is this is a preseason game and the chance of Brady playing more than 2 sets is very minimal. I look for the Dolphins to try to settle in on Tua and get ready for a wild ride, but also for the total to go over as these offenses both have plenty of firepower and for the Tua to Hill connection to be established early on.
