Kiwoom Heroes Preview
The Heroes are coming to this game riding an 0-1 record. The last game on the field for the Heroes was rained out. However, the hitting for the Heroes leaves a lot to be desired with a .206 average and only a single homer. The pitching is even worse for Kiwoom with a 7.88 ERA.
The hitting for the Heroes has been led by Lee Hyun-jong who is hitting at a clip of .500. The power for the Heroes and the run production has seen Choi Joo-hwan leading the team with a homer and 2 runners brought home, but also with a .333 ERA.
Kiwoom is putting Emmanuel De Jesus on the mound in this game. The 27 year old pitcher is a new pitcher to the KBO. In 2023 De Jesus pitched in A and AAA ball. However, in 19 games pitched De Jesus ended up with a 5-5 record and a 4.70 ERA. He ended up pitching a total of 92 innings giving up 100 hits and managed to strike out only 70 batters.
NC Dinos Preview
NC for their part heads to the game here with a 1-1 record on the year. The Dinos in their last game ended up getting a loss by having their scored doubled up by Doosan with a final score of 6-3. On the season, though, the Dinos are hitting at a clip of .206 with a homer. Still, the pitching is better with a 4.50 ERA.
Choi Jeong-won has managed to record a hit in his lone plate appearance on the year and leads the Dinos in hitting. Kwon Hui-dong is the power hitter for NC with a homer on the year so far. Now, when it comes to bringing the runners home not a single hitter on the NC team has managed to get more than 1 RBI on the season.
Daniel Castano is making his first start in the KBO in this game here as well. In 2023, the 29 year old pitcher pitched for the Miami Marlins. However, he only threw in 2 games and posted a 21.00 ERA in 3 innings pitched. In those innings Castano allowed 8 hits, but did end up striking out 4 batters.
Heroes vs Dinos Pick: NC Dinos
The Dinos are playing at home in this game and are coming off of a loss and looking like a very hungry team. With that being the case, we are going to take the Dinos to secure the win. Not so much because they are looking to bounce back from the loss, but more because the Dinos have the better overall pitching staff that can tame down the weak hitting Heroes.
