Kiwoom Heroes vs Lotte Giants 5/1/24

Kiwoom Heroes Preview

The Heroes are heading here after getting a nice win in their last game. The win was over the Giants, but it came in the form of a higher than expected 9-7 final. Kiwoom is coming in with a 14-16 record overall, but are 5-7 on the road which is good enough to be sitting in 7th place.

Lee Jong-min is the starter heading to the mound for the Heroes for his second start of the year. He has posted an 0-1 record with a 7.36 ERA and a 1.64 WHIP. He only managed to throw 3 1/3 innings on the year with 3 runs, all of which were earned runs allowed. He did give up 3 hits as well and walked 3 batters, but did not strike out anyone. The Heroes are a horrible pitching team with a 5.37 ERA and have allowed 302 hits with 25 homers. As a team the Heroes are letting the opponents hit at a clip of .283 with a 1.54 WHIP.

The Kiwoom team is not hitting strong either with a .264 average with only 156 runs scored. The Heroes have recorded 272 hits with 45 doubles, 5 triples, and 32 homers. Still, the base running for Kiwoom is missing on the year with 9 steals, but only 2 runners thrown out on the year.

Lotte Giants Preview

Lotte is coming in after losing in their last game. The loss for the Giants was a disappointment in a home loss but with how bad the Giants have been it was expected. The Giants are now sitting in dead last in the KBO with a record of 8-21-1 on the year with a home record of 6-8-1.

Park Se-woong is the starter that goes to the mound for the Giants for his 7th start of the year. Park has posted a 3-2 record with a 4.78 ERA and a 1.53 WHIP. He has thrown a total of 32 innings giving up 22 runs of which 17 were earned runs. He has allowed 40 hits and 2 homers, but has struck out 25 batters while walking only 9. This year the Giants have posted a 5.27 ERA and have allowed 303 hits with 33 homers allowed. Lotte has ended up getting a 1.58 WHIP and the opponents have hit at a clip of .296.

Lotte is a poorly hitting team with a .252 average and 123 runs scored. The Giants have managed to get a total of 276 hits with 50 doubles, 7 triples, but have some good power hitting finally with 18 homers. The Giants have stolen 30 bases and have been caught stealing 10 times.

Kiwoom Heroes vs Lotte Giants 5/1/24 Pick: Lotte Giants

I know the Giants are a bad team, but even bad teams have to catch a break at some point right? In this game here I think that the Giants finally are able to catch that break. The Heroes are going to have a good showing here, but with the far weaker starter on the mound it will be very difficult for the Heroes to keep the Giants in check. That makes it easier for the Giants to get the win in this game here, but with both teams having issues on the mound it will be easy to see the over hitting here.
