Columbia at Harvard 2/8/19 – College Basketball Free Pick, Preview, Prediction

College Basketball PickThe Columbia Lions have been playing poorly on the year and find themselves well under the five hundred mark on the season. What is even worse for the Lions is the fact the road has been very unkind to the Columbia squad as they have only won a single game on the road and have dropped 6 games. Harvard, on the other hand, have actually been playing decent for the Crimson and while they have not been a dominate force the Crimson are over the five hundred mark on the year and when playing at home the Crimson have only dropped a single game on the season so far.

Columbia Lions Preview

You would think that the Ivy League would not be that difficult to play in. However, Columbia is living proof that is a misnomer. The Lions have only managed to get a single win in the Ivy this year and that came against Cornell. What is interesting, though, is with only a single win in the Ivy League this season the Lions are still only 3 games back from being in first place.

The Lions on the season have been able to get a total of 73.1 points a game with Quinton Adlesh leading the team in scoring with a total of 13.5 points a game. The Lions have ended up getting 17 assist a game, but the leading passer for the Lions has been Gwen Steffani with 3.7 a game. The Lions have only managed to get 35.5 boards a game and are led by Randy Brumant who has pulled down 5.9 a game. The Lions have given up 71.1 points a game.

Harvard Crimson Preview

Harvard for their part find themselves sitting in second place in the Ivy League and are only a game out of first place. However, the Crimson are a team that has been capable of bringing home some solid wins on the season and that will definitely work out in the favor of the Crimson in this game. What else will help the Crimson out is the fact they are playing at home is going to help the Crimson out quite a bit in the game.

The Crimson on the season have been able to score 69.2 points a game and have been led by Chris Lewis with 12.7 points a game. Christian Juzang leads the Crimson with assist at 3.2 a game out of the teams 13.3 a game. Justin Bassey has been able to get 7.2 boards a game out of the teams 35.2 boards per game. The Crimson have managed to get a total of 66.8 points a game allowed.

Columbia Lions at Harvard Crimson Line: Harvard -11.5 O/U 131

My Free College Basketball Pick: Columbia Lions +11.5

The Columbia Lions have had some problems, but even on the road the Lions are giving up only a few more points on average compared to what they have been scoring. However, what else has made the difference is the fact the Crimson have not been able to score a ton of points in their games, even at home. On average at home the Crimson only score 10 more points than they allow at home and that will make the difference which allows Columbia to cover the spread, even with the Crimson winning the game. I look for Harvard to win this game 69-63.
