Anthony Smith vs Glover Teixeira – UFC Fight Night 5/13/20 Pick & Prediction

UFCUFC Fight Night is headlined by Anthony Smith and Glover Teixeira and it will definitely be a fight to remember. While neither one of these fighters has really been known for the submission style of fighting, they are definitely looking at this type of fighting as the last several bouts for both of the fighters have managed to get some submission wins lately.

Anthony Smith is heading into the fight here after being in his last fight in June of 2019. The bout was against Alexander Gustafsson and went to the 4th round before picking up the win by submission. The win pushed Smith to a 32-14 record, but he is 18-8 in the KO/TKO fights and 12-4 in submission wins in his career.

Glover Teixeira is coming into the fight here for the first fight since September of 2019. The win came against Nikita Krylov in what ended up being a split decision that was definitely not something that was taken lightly and ended up getting to the full battle. The win did push Glover to a 30-7 record, but he is 17-3 in the TKO/KO fights and when it comes to submission fights he is 8-0.

Anthony Smith is coming in at 6’4” and 205 pounds, but also has a 76” reach. Glover Teixeira is heading into the bout here with a 6’2” and 205 pound mark. However, Teixeira also has the same reach at 76 inches and that can keep the fight fairly even and level here.

Anthony Smith vs Glover Teixeira Prediction – Anthony Smith

Smith is the favored fighter here and while the bout is very evenly matched the bout is going to tip to the favor of Smith. Yes, Smith is more of a striker, but the recent bouts have shown good submission skills as well. What else helps Smith out is the last battle for Teixeira ended up being a split decision. Look for Smith to come in and take advantage of that and bring home the win.
