Lotte Giants Preview

The Giants are heading here after losing to LG by a score of 6-5 in their last meeting on Wednesday. The game is one that the Giants would like to have back, but a one run loss is not horrible. Still, the loss for Lotte kept them in 10th place in the KBO and sitting on a horrible 4-16 record.

Park Se-woong is the starter going to the mound for teh Giants in this game for his 5th start. This year Park has posted a 1-2 record with a 6.52 ERA and a 1.86 WHIP. Se-woong has struck out 17 batters while walking 6. Still, Park has thrown only 19 1/3 innings while giving up 18 runs, 30 hits and 2 homers on the year. The Giants have allowed the opponents to hit them fairly easily with a .304 average and a 1.67 WHIP. Overall, the Giants have allowed 20 homers on 210 hits, but have posted a dismal 5.42 ERA as a team.

The hitting for the Lotte Giants is the second worst in the KBO with a .248 average and only 71 runs scored. The Giants have managed to get 174 hits with 24 doubles, 4 triples and only 11 long balls. The Giants have been good running the bases with 22 steals and only 7 runners being thrown out.

LG Twins Preview

The win for LG was a close battle and one that the Twins could have easily blown. Still, the Twins are now sitting in 5th place in the KBO on the year and have a solid foundation to build off of. The Twins have posted a record of 11-10-1 on the year.

Casey Kelly heads to the mound in this game for his 5th start off the mound. Kelly has posted a 1-1 record with a 2.88 ERA and a 1.20 WHIP. Still Kelly has thrown a total of 25 innings giving up 10 runs, 24 hits and 2 homers. He has ended up walking only 6 batters and has struck out 19 on the season. As a team the Twins are a top 3 pitching team with a 4.39 ERA and a total of 208 hits allowed along with 17 homers. The opponents are hitting decent against the Twins with a .272 average and a 1.52 WHIP.

LG is the second best hitting team in the KBO with a team average of .301 with a total of 127 runs scored. The Twins have ended up getting 234 hits so far. The Twins have hit 34 doubles, 2 triples, and 15 homers on the season. The base running for the Twins has ended up getting 35 steals with only 10 runners being thrown out on the year.

Lotte Giants vs LG Twins 4/18/24 Pick: LG Twins

Well, I think the Twins are going to win another great game here. However, I do expect this game to be a back and forth battle and with the Giants finding some recent pop in their bats it will be easier to see the Giants getting some homers again, but not until the bullpen sees action for LG. By the time that happens, though, the Twins will be in front for a comfortable win.
