NFL action is set to take place on 8/13/22 and it will feature Seattle Seahawks at Pittsburgh Steelers. The game is set to take place at Acrisure Stadium in Pittsburgh, Pennsylevania. The game starts at 7:00 PM EST and should be televised NFL Network.

Pittsburgh Steelers

Seattle is coming off of a season that can only be summed up as a disappointment. The Seahawks finished at 7-10 on the year and missed the playoffs. The divisional record for Seattle was not any better finishing at 3-3 on the year. Pete Carroll is back to guide the Seahawks again this year, in what could be a rebuilding year.

Seahawks Offense

The Seahawks are doing something they have not had to do for 10 year. The Seattle team has to find a new quarterback and the Seahawks only have a couple of choices one is Drew Lock and the other is Geno Smith, but so far Lock is the front contender to get the job. The leading running back from last season, Rashaad Penny is back and last year Penny carried only 119 times for 749 yards with 6 touchdowns. The Seattle offense is bringing back a total of 6 starters.

Seahawks Defense

Seattle is coming in with a defense that allowed 379 yards per game, with 266 yards allowed in the air and 114 on the ground. The defense did give up a total of 21.5 points per game. Seattle ended up with 11 picks and 34 sacks. The defense is bringing back a total of 8 defensive starters on the year and that should provide some stability to a team that may not gain traction offensively.

Pittsburgh is coming in after making the Wild Card berth, but then getting knocked out of the playoffs. The Steelers are coming in with a 9-8-1 record from last year overall and were 4-2 in the division race. Mike Tomlin is back for his 16th year to guide the Steelers.

Steelers Offense

The Steelers are going to have to find a new quarterback this year with the retirement of Roethlisberger. The favorite to win the job is journman Mitchell Trubisky, but the Steelers did pick up two rookies at the quarterback position. The leading rusher was Najee Harris and he is back after carrying the ball 307 times for 1,200 yards and 7 touchdowns last year. The Steelers are bringing back a total of 9 starters from an offense that was ranked just outside of the top 20.

Steelers Defense

Defensively the Steelers were no where near what the team should be giving up 361 yards per game, but allowing 215 in the air and 146 on the ground. The Steelers did give up 23.4 points per game and only managed to get 13 picks with 55 sacks. Pittsburgh is bringing back a total of 9 starters on the defensive side of the ball. However, the 2 players that did depart the team were some of the standout defensive players the Steelers have come to rely on at points.

Seattle Seahawks at Pittsburgh Steelers Odds: Seahawks +3, Steelers -3

Over/Under Odds: 33.5

Seahawks at Steelers Pick: Seattle Seahawks +3, Over 33.5

Odds from Betonline.ag

A money line win for the Steelers is what I see here. Pittsburgh does have a good team, but it needs to find a leader at the quarterback position and Trubisky is not that person. The Seahawks defense will get sliced up by the Steelers rushing offense, but the offense for Seattle should transition better to the new quarterback than Pittsburgh which should keep the Steelers from covering the spread, but does not play well enough to keep the total under.
