NFL action is set to take place on 8/13/22 and it will feature Indianapolis Colts at Buffalo Bills. The game is set to take place at Highmark Stadium in Orchard Park, New York. The game starts at 4:00 PM EST and should be televised NFL Network.
For Indianapolis the Colts are asking if this is the year that the rebuild starts to take shape again. Last year the Colts were able to finish at a record of 9-8 on the year. However, in the AFC South the Colts were only able to managed a five hundred finish at 3-3. Frank Reich is coming back to guide the Colts this season.
Colts Offense
The Colts are going to have another new quarterback this year. The difference is this quarterback is one that has been proven to win in the past, but is looking past it at times in Matt Ryan. The Colts are bringing back a strong starting back in Johnathan Taylor this year. Last season Taylor ended up carrying the ball 332 times for 1.811 yards and 18 touchdowns. On the downside the Colts offense is in shambles compared to years past with only 5 starters coming back.
Colts Defense
When it comes to the defense the Colts allowed a total of 343 yards per game, with 234 yards in the air and 109 on the ground. The Colts allowed only 21.5 points per game, but did end up with 19 picks and picked up 33 sacks. The Colts only recorded 33 sacks total so you would think resigning one of the teams sack leaders would be paramount, but it was not the case as the Colts allowed Kemoko Turay to walk away. The defense for the Colts is bringing back 6 starters.
Buffalo has looked to reestablish its power in the AFC East and after last years run it is hard to doubt the Bills. The Bills finished the year at a 12-7 record. However, a telling figure is the fact that the Bills were able to finish at a divisional record of 5-1. The Bills are led by Sean McDermott as the coach.
Bills Offense
Buffalo is bringing back a budding star quarterback that has flown under the radar for the most part in Josh Allen. Allen last year went 409/646 for 4,407 yards and 36 touchdowns with a total of 15 picks on the year. The rushing should be handled by Devin Singletary again this year as he carried 188 times for 870 yards and 7 touchdowns last season. What is even more scary of a stat is the fact that Buffalo is bringing back 10 starters from a top 5 ranked offense.
Bills Defense
Defensively the Bills were one of the best defenses in the league giving up only 273 yards per game, but allowed 163 yards in the air and 1110 yards per game on the ground. The Bears did give up 17 points per game and only managed to get 19 picks with 42 sacks. With a total of 9 starters returning the Bills defense was already stacked, but throw in the addition of Von Miller and the Bills defense could really set the tempo in a lot of their games this year.

Odds from Betonline.ag
Buffalo has multiple factors going for them in this preseason meeting. Even with the stars most likely sitting out most of the game it will be very difficult to see the Bills struggling. The offense for Buffalo has been retooled, with what little changes needed to be made, but also the defense has added in some serious threats to a top ranked defense. The Bills are definitely going to be a threat this year and should easily cover this game here as the Colts try to settle in with another new quarterback and a defense that is rebuilding as well. Still, the Bills offense and defensive combination will not push the total over.
