Louisiana Downs Race 3 Pick: Show On Populist
The odds on favorite is going to have a great run here, but I do not think that he has the carrying speed to last the entire race at a faster pace. Granted, the 38 flat in the 3 furlong workout was not that bad, but it is far from impressive as the run that Arrival or even Populist had. With that being said, Populist is my pick here. The horse has a good jockey riding it, but also the horse has speed that did not look like it fell off at all with the rank 1/24 finish and that will help Populist in keeping the pace up in this race. If you are looking for a straight out win bet, though, I would back Arrival.
