Alexander Hernandez vs Drew Dober – UFC Fight Night 5/13/20 Pick & Prediction
The lightweight battle here is one that will feature a couple of fighters that have had some competition, but for Hernandez the competition has been decent, but not overpowering. While Dober, is not that bad either, but has accumulated a higher loss to win ratio than Hernandez. Now, one aspect that will be interesting is the contrasting styles of fighting with Hernandez being a striker and Dober following more of the Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.
Alexander Hernandez is heading into the bout here more as a true striker and knock out style of fighter. In fact in 3 out of his last 5 bouts they have come as a TKO/KO, but one of those was a loss. The other fights for Hernandez have been unanimous decisions in his favor. The last win came in July of 2019 and improved his record to 11-2, but he is 4-1 in the TKO/KO and is unbeaten for submissions at 2-0.
Dober has ended up fighting in almost all the different genres in his last 5 fights. 2 have ended up being a TKO/KO wins, 2 have been a unanimous decision wins, and the one submission ended up being a loss. However, for Dober his last fight came in January of this year and it was a KO/TKO win. The recent wins have improved Dober to 22-9 overall, but he is 10-1 in the TKO/KO arena and sits on an almost five hundred mark in submissions at 5-3.
When it comes to the size of the fighters Hernandez is heading into the fight standing at 5’9” and 155 pounds. Hernandez does have a 72” reach. For Dober, he is slightly smaller, but not much, at 5’8” and 155 pounds. However, Dober is giving up 2 inches in the reach category as his reach sits at 70”.
Alexander Hernandez vs Drew Dober Prediction – Alexander Hernandez
This is one fight the odds makers are having issues in picking the winner for. Hernandez sits at a -110 and Dober at a -120. However, I think that Hernandez who has not fought in as many fights, does have a slight advantage when it comes to the longer reach and slight inch difference. That will give him the advantage to deliver further blows, but also keeps Dober from getting too close to land any major strikes which is why Hernandez will win this battle.
