Los Angeles Sparks at New York Liberty 6/4/19 – WNBA Pick, Preview, Prediction
The Sparks have yet to win on the young season and that is definitely going to be something that they could change against the Liberty. The Liberty have only played a single home game, but ended up losing that game as well. The Liberty also have not won a single game on the year, which is definitely something that is completely different than what the Sparks have done on the year as they have been able to get a 1-1 record on the season so far, but the road loss came against Las Vegas.

The Sparks managed to pick up a win in the second game of the season by taking down the Connecticut Sun. The downside is the game was a lot more competitive than what a lot of people would have expected as the Sparks only scored a total of 77 points in the game, but the defense managed to step up in the game really well giving up only 70 points in the game.
Maria Vadeeva is the leading scorer for the Sparks this season with 24 points a game. Nneka Ogwumike is the player who backs her up in the scoring with a total of 18 points in the game. Ogwumike has been able to clear the boards at 13 boards a game with 4.5 a game coming on the offensive glass. Alexis Jones and Chelsea Gray lead the Sparks with 4 assist a game on the year.
New York Liberty Preview
The Liberty have not really been impressive on the year offensively. The Liberty have topped out at 80 points this year for the high score. The last game was the second loss on the year and the first on the road this season against the Fever. The game was also one that saw the Liberty get crushed in the game by a total of 15 points and did not even look like they showed up on the court.
Tina Charles is the leading scorer for the Liberty in this game as he has been able to score a total of 23.5 points a game on the year. Kia Nurse is the second leading scorer for the Liberty as she has been able to get 13 points a game on the year. Charles has been able to pull down 9.5 rebounds a game to lead the Liberty and 4 of those boards per game are coming on the offensive glass. Bria Hartley and Brittany Boyd has been able to get 3.5 assist a game on the year for the Liberty.

The Liberty are playing at home and have already lost once at home this year. The downside is the Liberty do not have an offense that has been able to keep them competitive on the year and what does not help out is the defense has not been able to slow down anyone at all. The Sparks, though, have actually managed to have a decent defense at times and have shown some spark of life offensively. That type of spark is what the team needs to have and the Sparks can spread the ball around fairly evenly on the year and if Vadeeva gets shut down Ogwumike has been able to step up. The Liberty lack depth past Charles and that will cost the Liberty this game and quite a few future games as well. Final Score Prediction, Los Angeles Sparks win 82-71.
