Richmond Spiders at La Salle Explorers 2/23/19 College Basketball Pick

La Salle ExplorersRichmond and La Salle are facing off against each other in this game, but what is interesting is the Spiders have a slightly worse record when it comes to playing in the overall standings. In the Atlantic 10, though, both of the teams have the same exact record and they are both 6 games back from the first place VCU  squad in the standings and that often means these two teams will have to hope for a tournament victory to get into the madness next month.

Richmond Spiders Preview

The last game for the Spiders was a 3 point win over Fordham. The game saw the Spiders put in 72 points and only allowed 69 points in the game. Grant Golden was able to put in a total of 16 points for the Spiders to lead the team in the scoring front. When it came to rebounding Jacob Gilyard was able to pull down 8 boards for the Spiders. Andre Gustavson was the second high scorer in the win for the Spiders with a total of 13 points in the game. Gilyard was also active at providing an offensive spark in the game with 8 assist.

The Spiders are a team that has been able to score a total of 70.5 points a game on the year. The Spiders have allowed 70.4 points a game on the season. The Spiders have managed to get 15.3 assist a game, but when it comes to rebounding the Spiders are horrible only getting 29.3 boards a game.

La Salle Explorers Preview

The Explorers are coming into this game here after losing to Saint Bonaventure. The Explorers only managed to get 60 points in the game, but gave up 62 points. A third of the points from the Explorers came from Pookie Powell who put in 20 points in the game. Ed Croswell was able to get a total of 10 rebounds in the game to leads the Explorers. Isiah Deas was the second leading scorer with 16 points in the game.

The offense for the Explorers has had quite a few problems on the year as the team is only getting 68.3 points a game. The defense for the Explorers has played decent giving up 72.6 points a game. The Explorers have ended up getting a total of 12.5 assist a game on the season. Rebounding for the Explorers has been a little bit better than the Spiders, but has only managed to get 33.6 boards a game.

Spiders at Explorers Line: La Salle Explorers -2.5 O/U 143

My Free College Basketball Pick: Richmond Spiders +2.5

The Spiders have the edge in a few categories, but the Explorers have the edge in some as well, but the main category of defense and offense seems to slip to the Richmond squad. The bench play defense has to go to La Salle, but it is pushing it. At home, though, the Explorers offense tends to step up some, but the defense does as well. The downside is the Spiders offense steps up quite a bit and the defense, while it is not as good on the road does play decent. I personally look for this game to be a battle, but I see Richmond picking up the road win here against the reeling Explorers with a 73-69 score.
